Art Institute (Kelley Bennet)

So, on friday a I entered the classroom and was surprised to see a tall guy with blue eyes. What was more amaing was what he presented! It was all very cool, he talked about what this institute offers and the courses they offer. All the students had a portfolio of all the art/media they had created. It was really cool because the portfolio was like a resume, only cooler becasue it wasn't letters. Everything was animated. I like the idea of making things look 3-d, and interesting to watch. I also like they way they could make videos with tons of images and make it VERY pretty. Animations seems very hard, and it kind of intimidates me but it also seems very fun. What would be really cool to do is fashion! Animating fashion is something I would definitely do.

Faeries are Created

Okay, so first I collected pictures that grabbed my attention in google. After a a couple that I had saved i decided to get to work! First I created a blank canvas in photoshop, and then I opened my base picture. (The One on the left). I liked the blue background so this was going to be my background for my mutant.

I used the Quick Selection Tool select some fireflies and

a moon from another picture and paste them to my base picture.

I tried to place the fireflies randomly, as if the fireflies were the fairy's friend. I then used the Move Tool to drag them onto the backgroundand named it a new layer. The fireflies Layer, and the Moon Layer.

These eyes caught my attetntion ever since I saw them, once again i used the Magic Wand Tool and selected the eye and then moved it to my background. I did this twice because, obviously, I need two eyes. Once I had both of them I went to Edit and Trasform and resisez both of them. Then I selected one eye and went to Edit>Tranform>Flip Horizontal. This would be my left eye. I played with the size until it fit my face the way I wanted it to.

The ears were fairly easy to do, it was very similar to what i did to the eyes. I selected themwith the Magic Want Tool and dragged it TWICE to my background picture. I also need to ears, so that's why I did it twice. Once again, I went to Edit> Trasform> Scale.
I did this both for of my ears and then rotated them.

Once more I used the Magic Wand tool to select an specific area, this time I picked the lips. Then I moved then to my base picture and used Edit>Transform>Scale to make them VERY tiny and it doesn't look like my lips are deformed... altough it kind of looks like that....

Supremancy

Somewhere in an unimaginable place, far a way from human life and human existence is the Planet of Faeries. A place is full of color; it’s shadowed in pink and blue fogs, the sky has a different shade everyday day, and the source of light is like a rainbow. There are many different types of fairies, and every one of them has an assigned job to keep the P.O.F. a luxurious place. Everything is quiet, quiet to the point that the silence is LOUD. The sounds of unknown insects and other animals hang in the air. Even the wind has a whisper of its own. In this place, no words are spoken, nothing is said. It’s not needed. The eyes are the communicating basis in this planet. You read eyes.

The faeries have an indescribable beauty; their eyes are like pools of watercolors. They are captivating, and seducing, yet they could kill with a stare. The powers the faeries hold within themselves are not known to each other. Each faerie develops different powers through their eyes. They can create or destroy. They can revive or kill. Their eye color matches their lips. Their hair is long and luscious, it looks like ocean waves. They are trained to seduce, and to understand. Humans fall for them. The human mind is amazed easily; they come to this planet showered in gunpowder and in funny looking clothes. Believing they can capture us. They say they come to explore, but what they want is to take most of us and strap us to a white resting mattress, and open us in half.

That’s why faeries are trained to seduce and understand. We can’t let humans into our world. That would be the end of all of us. Our mind power is greater than any other. Faeries have to be prepared when the TIME comes. The TIME when one of us will betray the rest. Then, we will need all we have. Then, the human mind will be a threat. Then, they will proceed to extinguish us out of this place. This place we’ve created for peace. For happiness.

There are many myths and stories and legends about us. Humans, who dared trespass our borders never go back to their earth. We make sure they forget everything and start all over again. Meanwhile, the earth people worry why they never came back. They wonder what is it that, us, simple faeries, have that they don’t.

We have SUPERIOR MINDS.

Mutant Project

The objective of this project is to create a mutant that is similar to us phisycally. In order to make it look like us, we will use Photoshop to alter, fix, and edit the pictures.

Emerging Technologies

In a relatively short period of time, our world has changed dramatically because of the creation in 1969 of a small computer network known as ARPANET.
Web sites have evolved over time. First generation sites were static—no interactivity. They included basic structures. Second generation sites included intuitive, user-friendly navigation systems, focused on the content, and animation—blinking text, moving banners, animated images, etc. Since businesses were now online, there was much more interaction than with first generation sites. Third generation sites addressed their audiences based on their objectives, which drove the design and structure. Splash pages were popular, as was the use of cascading style sheets, portals, and forms. These sites focused on content and were easily navigated. Fourth generation sites are participatory and highly interactive. They provide richer experiences for their users. Site designers take full advantage of the new tools of Web 2.0. They frequently include wikis, blogs, podcasts, webcasts, and Web services. Standards are being developed for mobile users of the Web to make their online experience productive and efficient.
E-commerce has exploded because of the popularity of the World Wide Web and the new technologies that have been developed. An example of a new technology the we are using in our classroom is using a BLOG to form journal entries.
